Flight of calibration and commissioning of radio and visual aids of Oé-Cusse International Airport “Sandalwood Route”

Today, on May 2, 2019, a B200GT King Air aircraft from the Balai Besar Kalibrasi company, belonging to the General Directorate of Civil Aviation of the Republic of Indonesia, began a series of calibration and commissioning flights for the radio and visual aids of Oé International Airport -Take “Sandalwood Route”.
These flights, which will continue for the day tomorrow, May 3, represent another milestone in the preparation of this airport for its total operational readiness.
The calibration and commissioning of the DVOR-DME radio aid allows it to be officially available as a navigation device for any flight to and from Oé-Cusse as well as for all aircraft flying over this region, providing accurate position and distance indications.
Likewise, the calibration and commissioning of the PAPI visual aid will allow this functionality to become officially used as an indicator of the accuracy of the vertical angle of approach to any of the runways at this airport.
At the same time an evaluation of all lighting devices of the lane, approaches and taxiways will be carried out.
