Innovation Workshop in Oé-Cusse ends with great youth representation
Today, eighty assistants gathered again in the Sta. Rosa room of Pante Macassar to close the Innovation Workshop that commenced ten days ago. During this third and last session, participants jointly presented all the work developed throughout the workshop and received a certificate of completion.
Staff from the Regional Secretariat for Community Tourism in RAEOA – ZEESM TL expressed their gratitude with the participation and involvement of all attendees throughout the workshop. They especially lauded the active participation of women, who made up 50% of attendees, and the highest portion of the youth sector of Oé-Cusse during these three days.
Ms. Inácia Teixeira, the Regional Secretary of Community Tourism, highlighted the importance of this kind of training as an essential tool for local development. Ms. Teixeira stated that: “In the past, we saw how many people received funds to open new businesses but failed due to lack of knowledge in terms of management, marketing and finance”. She added that: “We are promoting the Oé-Cusse Business Incubator (OBI) Programme to change this behavior and we encourage our young population to take a part in development of private sector. We believe that this new generation represents the future of the private sector in Oé-Cusse and that is why it is so important to capacitate them in business skills so that they can strengthen our industry”.
This Innovation Workshop, organized by the Regional Secretary for Community Tourism in RAEOA – ZEESM TL, was a three-day collaborative workshop focused on identifying the needs and possibilities of the region in order to promote the creation of innovative products and services that can boost local development in Oé-Cusse. The end of this workshop marks the beginning of the second cycle of the OBI Programme, for which registrations will be opened immediately.
