Innovative entrepreneurs achieve better income thanks to access to technology and new capacities
Thursday 14th of November, an event promoted by the Regional Secretary of Community tourism reunited OBI entrepreneurs and future tour guides to celebrate their accomplishments.
During this event, the Oé-Cusse Business Incubator (OBI) equipment was delivered symbolically to the entrepreneurs via cheques and the assistants to the previous tour guide training (24th-26th of October) received their certificates. The OBI entrepreneurs will now see a substantial change in their lives and businesses from this new equipment and technology. Two of the participants shared with the group the impressive results they have obtained after only two months of support from OBI: their incomes have grown by 60$ for Dores da Costa, owner of a bike rental business, and over 1000$ for the owner of the newest Spa in Pante Macassar.
The Regional Secretary of Community Tourism, Inacia da C. Teixeira, spoke words of encouragement to the participants while reminding them that success now depends on their effort thanks to the support from RAEOA ZEESM and UNDP. Laura Fiorotto, UNDP Project Manager, also agreed with Inacia: “you have won this competition, you are the best of the best. You should be proud but with this comes the responsibility to work hard to develop your business.”
The entrepreneurs shared their experiences while thanking all the team from the Regional Secretary of Community Tourism. The participants are motivated and eager to continue their journey to improve their livelihoods while making Oé-Cusse a better place for tourism and industry development.
