Opening of the 44th National Women’s Day of Timor-Leste in the Oé-Cusse Region
RAEOA-ZEESM-TL Acting President, HE Arsenio Bano, attended the opening of the 44th National Women’s Day in Oé-Cusse today, this year on the theme of “Valuing Women in the Fight for the creation of equal development opportunities”.
The Interim President of the Authority was accompanied by Inácia Teixeira, the Regional Secretary for Community Tourism, and the Regional Secretary of Administration, Francisco Marques, and the event was also attended by the Indonesian Consulate in Timor-Leste in Oe-Cusse, with Ms. Onny Silaban, Regional Directors, F-FDTL, PNTL and the Oe-Cusse Regional Potent Fetal Association, as well as other participants who where at the hall of the SERAO Human Resources Directorate building in Santa Rosa, Pante Macassar, Oé-Cusse.
In his speech, the Acting President of the Authority said that the presence of almost 50 per cent of female representatives in the Oé-Cusse Ambeno Special Administrative Region is a path to continue to develop, because this is an important statistic and deserves to be celebrated in a day that values the struggle of women, and everyone, for creating equal opportunities for all in all sectors. The President also added that the creativity of Oé-Cusse women in the making of Tais, salendas and other products is fundamental for development, as it can increase the attraction of tourists and visitors to the Region, and this is just one of ways of demonstrating women’s strength in the struggle for development.
