SAPIP program in Oé-Cusse


The Meeting Room of the President of the RAEOA Authority – ZEESM TL, Dr. Mari Alkatiri, in Oebau – Pante Macassar, Oé-Cusse, hosted a meeting on Wednesday 9 January 2019 presenting the SAPIP program (Sustainable Agriculture Productivity Improvement Project), promoted by the World Bank and revitalized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, which was attended by three Regional Secretaries and several technicians from the Region. The project aims to modernize and reform the agricultural and environmental support services system by increasing agricultural production and marketing of smallholders in selected geographic locations in Timor-Leste, including Oé-Cusse Ambeno (RAEOA – ZEESM – TL), where about 2,000,000 USD are destined.

The project that supports participatory district and community plans; training and training of farmer groups; agriculture and small-scale rural investments to improve agricultural productivity and sustainable river basins, including Tono, has been monitored by the President of the Authority, Dr. Mari Alkatiri, who intends to see the local cultures diversified and zoning the land agricultural activities, amongst other goals.
