“Seven Million Trees Campaign in Oé-Cusse Ambeno 2019-2023”

At the invitation of HE Dr. Mari Alkatiri, President of the RAEOA Authority – ZEESM TL, the Representative of the President of the Republic, Dr. Gregório de Sousa, the Representative of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, the Secretary of State for the Environment, Dr. Demétrio Amaral de Carvalho and the Indonesian Ambassador, Sahat Sitorus, were among the highest personalities present at the launch of the project “Seven Million Tree Campaign in Oé-Cusse Ambeno 2019-2023” presented this afternoon of April 9, 2019 by the Regional Secretary for Agriculture and Rural Development, Régio da Cruz Salú, in an event that brings together several partners of this ambitious project. For the President of the Authority, this is a good example of what is a social market economy, involving all families and all citizens, betting on a model of shared and participated development. Of the 7 million trees to be planted by 2023, 70% are expected to be harvested, with the exploitation of its fruits, timber and tourism potential, along with other ongoing projects, a way to improve, in a sustainable and environmentally correct way, quality of life of the population.
